About this committee
The FIFA Congress is the central legislative body of international football, bringing together national member associations to shape the sport's rules, priorities, and future direction.
Delegates will confront disputes involving players, clubs, national teams, confederations, commercial partners, and supporters. Success will require balancing the global growth of football with competitive fairness, sustainable scheduling, athlete protection, and the interests of associations with widely different resources.
Topics
Topic A: Ensuring Player Welfare in International Football
Topic A will examine how football's governing bodies should protect players amid increasingly demanding domestic and international schedules. Delegates will consider match congestion, rest and recovery, international travel, injury prevention, extreme weather, mental health, safeguarding, and the division of responsibility among FIFA, confederations, leagues, clubs, and player unions. The committee will seek enforceable standards that protect athletes without undermining the competitive and financial structure of the sport.
Topic B: The Future Structure of International Club Competitions
Topic B will examine how international club competitions should be organized as tournaments expand and the global calendar becomes more crowded. Delegates will debate tournament size and frequency, qualification systems, representation across confederations, revenue distribution, competitive balance, travel demands, and conflicts between club and national-team obligations. The committee must decide what structure best promotes global participation, commercial sustainability, and meaningful competition.

About the Chairs
Enrico Zangari
Chair
Hi everyone! My name is Enrico Zangari, and I'm excited to be chairing this FIFA Congress Specialized Committee at AHPMUN. I'm a senior at American Heritage and have been involved in MUN since last year, and I'm looking forward to seeing the debates, negotiations, and (hopefully) a little bit of chaos that comes with a FIFA committee.
Outside of MUN, I'm the President of my school's Young Investors Society, where I enjoy learning about investing and entrepreneurship. When I'm not doing that, you can probably find me playing soccer or pickleball, watching movies, gaming with friends, or listening to Drake.
As chair, I hope to see delegates think creatively, negotiate diplomatically, and embrace the unpredictability that makes FIFA Congress so much fun. I can't wait to see the ideas you bring to committee for the better of the beautiful game. Best of luck, and remember: Neymar > Messi.
Adam Ginsburg

Hi everyone! My name is Adam Ginsburg, and I'm excited to serve as one of your chairs for the FIFA Congress Specialized Committee. I joined the Heritage Model UN team this past year, and it has quickly become one of my favorite parts of high school. Through MUN, I've had the opportunity to travel, compete, debate important global issues, and meet some of my closest friends. It has been an amazing experience, and I'm excited to help create the same experience for all of you at AHPMUN.
Outside of Model UN, I'm heavily involved in Patriots TV, my school's daily live news program, where I help produce broadcasts and tell stories. I also enjoy photography, video production, journalism, politics, and working on creative projects. In my free time, you'll usually find me filming or editing something, watching sports, spending time with friends, or finding a new project to work on.
As chair, I'm looking forward to seeing delegates bring strong debate, creative solutions, and plenty of energy to FIFA Congress. This committee should be competitive, diplomatic, and fun, so come prepared to negotiate, collaborate, and defend your ideas. I can't wait to meet everyone and see what you bring to committee!
Anthony Rodriguez

Hi everyone, my name is Anthony Rodriguez, and I'm eager to be co-chairing this FIFA Congress Specialized Committee at AHPMUN. I joined MUN through this competition as well my sophomore year, and since then it has been quite the journey, from not placing to getting outstanding, but always having an amazing time with the team!
When I'm not in committee, I'm studying math as part of the school's Mu Alpha Theta team, going to the gym (205 bench btw), and playing games. I love The Weeknd and Ariana Grande, and can't wait to see the creativity you guys bring to this FIFA-themed committee.
For me, I love to see creativity and amicability blossom during the committee, so I expect to see you all making intense, yet diplomatic, discussion, all while appreciating that Spain (and not Argentina) won the world cup this year!
